What is Valorant?

Valorant is a team-based game where you play as Attackers or Defenders. The goal is to win rounds by either planting a bomb-like device called the Spike (Attackers) or stopping it (Defenders). You can also win by eliminating the other team.

Your team gets randomly assigned to one of these sides before the game starts. The game is played in rounds, and after 12 rounds, the teams switch sides. The first team to win 13 rounds wins the whole match.

If you’re on the Attacker side, your job is to try to plant a special bomb called the Spike at one of the bomb sites on the map. If you and your team can protect the Spike for 45 seconds, it explodes, and you win the round. If you’re on the Defender side, you need to stop the Attackers from planting the Spike or defuse it if they do. You can also win by eliminating all the players on the other team in a round, but be careful because you only have one life per round.

Before each round, there’s a Buy Phase where you use your money (called Creds) to buy things that can help you, like armor to protect yourself, better weapons, and unique abilities for your character. If you don’t use all your abilities or if you survive the round, you can keep them for the next round.

Valorant has different game modes you can play. There are four main ones: Unrated, Competitive, Spike Rush, and Deathmatch. And sometimes, there’s a special game mode that changes from time to time, like Escalation, Replication, or Snowball Fight.

Ranks in Valorant

Valorant uses a ranking system to determine a player’s skill level. Players progress through different ranks, starting with Iron and going up to Radiant. Within each rank, there are three tiers (e.g., Gold 1, Gold 2, Gold 3). Your performance in competitive matches will determine your rank and tier. Here are the ranks in Valorant from lowest to highest:

  1. Iron
  2. Bronze
  3. Silver
  4. Gold
  5. Platinum
  6. Diamond
  7. Immortal
  8. Radiant

Each of these ranks has three tiers, except for Radiant, which is the highest and does not have tiers. The progression system in Valorant is based on a player’s performance in competitive matches. Your rank can go up or down depending on wins and losses, as well as your individual performance in matches.
